On Saturday i was back here in stuffy dusty Kampala. I always thought things would be quite different this year but alas!..i was proved wrong. I literally had to squeeze my way through a multitude of people along the streets with ma bag in hand. Thank God the infamous pick pockets seem to be no more here. Every one here is busy.."looks" busy. I guess thats good for the economy! When i finally got into a taxi...i gave a big sigh of relief..for just a moment coz half way along the journey the old taxi broke down. I shoulda seen it coming!
I had told you a day before on friday that i hated long journeys. Long bumby rides aint the thing for me and i didnt think this one was going to be any different.. How wrong! Somehow i had company all the way in a friend of mine. Atleast this made the ride shorter and...much better.
Yestaday i reported at my new place of work. No serious surprises. Only that my supervisor didnt show up. So you could as well say i had a "day off". It was pretty boring though because Muk is currently "densely populated" given that the new semester has just begun.
Today, it was real business. My boss showed up, gave us a briefing, took us around...just about the usual orientation routine every on goes through. Its now time for the afternoon session so i got to be gone lest im deemed "unserious".
