Got back from The Egrets Outreach yesterday. It was fun. We had a great time of evangelism and fostering a spiritual education in Bweranyangi Girls S.S.S - Western Uganda. We set off on Friday..that is Good Friday. It wasn't a boring journey. We jazzed ourselves till we got to our destination around 7:30 PM having left Kampala 2 PM. Everything went according to plan and God was behind the wheel. Friday night was the opening session and on Saturday we went ballistic with a great outdoor morning session followed by exciting workshops later on in the afternoon. With me on the Piano and Simon on the solo guitar...music was something to remember. Of course there were those wrong notes hit but...i always went away with it, somehow!

Sunday. For the start i failed to wake up for the morning devotion. I was heavy laden with sleep and oh my..i couldn't pick myself up! The rest of the day, we engaged ourselves in more sessions with the students and many gave their lives over to Christ...and many had their lives renewed and restored as well. Sunday afternoon, i was the session leader. I stole off some time afterwards and got home to see mom and grandma. They are doing fine though granny has some tooth problem...oouchh!And she dreads going to the dentist. I hope she gets a change of heart because its pretty painful for her.
This was to be our last day in here. We had a movie..actually movies to show that night notably Facing The Giants which was clearly in line with the outreach theme - Discover the Potential in You (Judges 6).

Monday morning was time to say bye. And we all know goodbye is the saddest word. The journey back to Kampala wasn't as exciting. We were tired and the prospect of going for work the following day didn't cut across nicely for some of us. Its always hard to "adjust" after such a long holiday. Hoping you understand what i'm talking about here. But somehow God helped me get into the "mood" and i must say work hasn't been bad today. My output was nearly twice the normal!

Mine has been a mixed week. Bitter-sweet. But i'm good. I'm fine.Glad to be back here. Its been rather long. I think i last made a post last week. Easter is in the offing. It will be double good news for us here. On top of celebrating the victory of Christ over the grave, it will be 4 days off for us. This comes in handy. One needs a breather sometimes. In other words, i cant wait for Thursday. Everyone at office is excited. I already got "proggie" for this coming weekend. Will be going to Bweranyangi S.S.S for an Egrets outreach. That is in Bushenyi, South Western Uganda. The team meeting is on this evening in a short while.

Was at my sister's over the weekend. Had a great time with my little nieces. Give me more of such weekends and i will become a pro baby sitter! Did some shopping yesterday. I really badly needed to. Got to see my other sibling later. I ended up working over time as a result..ye know to make up for the time i was in town browsing labels, brands etc. Shopping can be such an unpleasant affair sometimes especially in a place like Kampala central district. The human traffic in there can shoot to unbearable quantums!

Today has been...well i don't know how to describe it. Its just that i ended up doing much less work than im supposed to. U can bet i'm tired and i need to walk outta here. Will make it up to you 2mrw and make another post. Catcha

Some one asked me this morning how my weekend was. I was quick to point out how hectic n busy it surely must have been (and was) for the guys. Blame it all on Womens day. The dudes had their work cut out. I think that partly explains that tired look on many a gents' face this morning. Anyhow, big ups to all the ladies...i hope we lived up to your "expectations"...wakin up early, doing those "unfamiliar" chores like doing the dishes...making breakfast (oh how i loathe cooking!)....getting the kids ready for school (ah thankfully i didnt have to do that coz it was a Saturday).

After all is said and done, my best guess is it all served to make our lives much better..with those beautiful women in our lives. Girls take heed..your day is the offing (only when you turn into women..very soon. Who knows!).

On top of a public holiday falling on a weekend..it was sad i wasn't anywhere near mom (the "only" woman in my life?). She thinks i'm a lazy chap so it wd have been a great opportunity to exhibit my hard work "credentials" and, of course, the fact that she means the whole world to me. Muaahs for ya big moma!

Enter Monday.I really tried to look smart this morning. I'm quite sure i pulled it off. Any objections? Well, you only need to bump into me before the day ends to prove me right or wrong! Anyhow work is quite ok. I have adopted a model of do-it-all-in-the-morning-and chill-out-the-rest-of-the day. Boy, it works (Shhhhhhhh..don't let the boss in on this..pliz).

The day aint over yet so i got my work cut out. Better you dont think much about the next day while there is still today to live. Remember today is a gift and tommorow? a mystery!

As i promised yesterday, today i'm giving you a preview of The Ultimate Gift. Thanks to Wiki. These guys make things easier for us.

This movie released on March 9 2007 is based on a best selling novel by Jim Stovall. James Garner, plays the mysterious Red Stevens. In the leading male role is Drew Fuller, the well-known TV actor in the series Charmed. Ali Hillis of Must Love Dogs is the leading lady. The cast is joined by Academy Award-nominated actress Abigail Breslin ( Little Miss Sunshine). The kid no doubt puts on a stellar performance. The film is produced by Jim Van Eerden and Rick Eldridge, directed by Michael O. Sajbel and written by Cheryl McKay. Here is the plot.

When his rich grandfather, Red Stevens ( James Garner) died, Jason (Drew Fuller) thought he was going to inherit a piece of the oil man's multi-billion dollar estate. Things didn't quite happen that way. In order to get his share of the willed inheritance, Jason must complete 12 separate assignments within a year. Each assignment is centered around a "gift". The gifts of money, friends and learning are among the dozen that Jason must learn before he is eligible for the mysterious "Ultimate Gift" his grandfather's will has for him.
At one point everything is taken from him and he lives as a homeless man. At another time he visits a developing country where even old library books are a treasure. Along the way, the movie spins a side story that was not in the novel, adding a romantic interest, Alexia (Ali Hillis), and her daughter Emily, an outspoken mysterious girl (Abigail Breslin) who, unbeknowst to Jason, is dying from cancer. All throughout the movie, Jason helps Emily to have a great life while it lasts. As Jason works through these twelve gifts in twelve months, he comes to see Red Stevens as more than a dead billionaire. At the end of the film when he chooses to use his entire inheritance to build a hospital for cancer patients and their families, it turns out he has more than exceeded expectations, and his departed grandfather has one final gift: making him a billionaire. After which, Emily dies of cancer, and Alexia and Jason pray for her....and fall in love (of course!)

I'm seated right here in this medium sized room..Hp PC before me, an Evernal fan flappin its wings at my near left making that ugly buzzing sound...and yes..its all rather quiet. 5.29. And it can only be me in here...at Office. U should be knowing that by now. This morning it dawned on me i hadn't posted anything on this blog since the onset of March. How pathetic! I do get lazy sometimes but as for yesterday..i lost my Internet connection. Excuses! Anyhow, it feels good being back again. Its funny i always think i have quite some stuff to write only to get blank the very moment i put my fingers on the keyboard. Weird. So do you know what i do? Well, i try hard to get the (first) catch word because it will precisely give me where to start. Sometimes i realize i'm writing trash so i have to cut it out and begin all over again. As for today i thought, just like Bob Color i had a story to tell...but rrwwwhhhiiiisssshhhhhh... it all vanished away. So don't you mind if i seem to be taking you for a roller coaster ride...its just that i'm trying to keep relevant!

This week has moved a little faster than most i have seen. Monday..Tuesday..and Wednesday will soon be confined to the bin of history (history bin if you like). I met a friend the other day and i told her work was 'quite' fine..hectic...boring (sometimes)..especially when the month is still young. Things can only get "better" towards the end. And you know, i know, we know February is over. I' ve been joking with my workmates about how more than ever we want our boss to pay us a "visit"...we don't mind the impromptu type...because anyhow, it would be good reminder that our accounts are crying out loud! Thank God she showed up.

Talked to mom yesterday. She called me. And now that i depend on "wired" transactions from her, you will probably understand how much THAT call meant to me. God bless the Woman (remember that famous Lucky 'D' vibe??)!!

This afternoon we were treated to a staff luncheon fellowship somewhere around MUK campus (St. Francis Students community Center). Apart from rubbing shoulders with big brained dons..profs and "PhDies(Di-z)"...the sumptuous lunch served was a piece of work. Things like these should happen quite often, as one fella pointed out (of course echoing my own personal "conviction" on the matter!). The afternoon was hot and clumsy as usual..no surprises there. My workmates couldn't wait for 5Pm to dawn and then walk away.

The big news is Hillary my girl gave Obama a run for his stash in the states of Ohio and Texas yesterday. And who doesn't know of Arsenal's CL go-back-to-school lecture to AC Milan's "living legends" last night in their own backyard????? (oh how i smiled!! Just like a Cheshire cat.)

This Friday its The Event at KPC Central main auditorium beginning 7Pm. Come and we stomp.

Tomorrow i will give you a preview of one of the cutest movies i have watched this year. Its The Ultimate Gift (2006) starring Drew Fuller, James Garner, Ali Hillis and Abigail Breslin. A drama master piece. No doubt.
